The hotel in the factory. The factory in the hotel.
The hotel occupies the left wing of a factory that is still in operation, on the site of PEGARD PRODUCTICS, a Belgian company that has been active in the field of machine tools and precision machining for almost a century.
This project was born from the need to increase the activity on the historical site of PEGARD, in the heart of Andenne, while maintaining and developing the core business which is machining. It was therefore necessary to find an activity compatible with an industrial activity in a city center.
A history of almost a century
Created in 1937, PEGARD PRODUCTICS is known in the industrial world for its precise and large size boring machines. Let’s retrace our history.
1937
Creation of the company PEGARD PRODUCTICS. It analyzes and finds solutions for precision machining, by specifying its capacity to carry out single parts and/or of big sizes. PEGARD PRODUCTICS can also carry out complete machining projects with R&D and assembly.
1980
Construction of the PEGARD administration building.
1983
PEGARD signs "the contract of the century" by selling a machining center with palletizing to the U.S.S.R. for 1 billion Francs.
1984
Year of the "PEGARD affair". PEGARD does not obtain the export license for the machine sold the previous year. It was finally installed at the Rocourt Arsenal where it is still in operation and regularly maintained by the current PEGARD teams.
2016
PEGARD receives an unexpected letter from Russia. A machine built by Mr Pegard even before the creation of the company, has just celebrated its hundred years of operation. We thrust it was celebrated as it should haven been.
2019
Launch of the idea of creating a hotel on the PEGARD site.
2020
Inauguration of the latest machine in the factory in the presence of the mayor Mr Eerdekens and the President of our company Mr Froidbise.
2021
Opening of PEGARD HOTEL.
